Trump: Iran is a failed state and is begging to reach an agreement

US President Donald Trump stated that he has no desire to meet with Iran, claiming that Tehran is begging for a meeting and an agreement, and described Iran as a “failed state.” In a post on his Truth Social platform, commenting on developments related to the Strait of Hormuz, Trump reiterated that he does not wish to hold talks with the Iranians, at a time when Tehran announced it is preparing a list of conditions for reopening the strait in response to requests from mediators. The US president posted an image of a map of US territories, adding the Strait of Hormuz to it, and wrote the word “new” next to the strait’s image, suggesting that the strait had recently come under US control. This is not the first time Trump has posted a map of the strait; ten days earlier, he had shared a similar image on his Truth Social account, accompanied by the phrase “new American land,” which drew a response from Iran at the time.
