US President Donald Trump stated that Iran is facing “a major predicament,” noting that it is unable to pay its soldiers’ salaries. Trump affirmed that the moves being undertaken by the United States regarding Iran do not signify abandoning the military dimension, saying, “What we are doing regarding Iran does not mean we have abandoned the military aspect.” On the possibility of holding negotiations with Tehran, the US president stressed that his country has no desire to speak with Iran at present and is not seeking to arrange a meeting with it. Regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said the strait is open, confirming that it has been fully cleared of mines.
