Ku signs Joint Defense and Military Cooperation Agreement with Pakistan

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense signed a Defense and Joint Military Cooperation Agreement with its Pakistani counterpart today, Thursday. The agreement was signed on behalf of Kuwait by Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salim Al-Sabah, and on behalf of Pakistan by Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in the presence of Chief of General Staff of the Army Lieutenant General Khaled Daraj Saad Al-Sharhan and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nasser Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi.

Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salim Al-Sabah met with his Pakistani counterpart, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in the capital Islamabad, during his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where he was accorded an official military welcome ceremony.

During the meeting, Kuwaiti-Pakistani relations were reviewed, and prospects for close cooperation in the military and defense fields were discussed. The ministers also examined the latest regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest, as well as efforts undertaken to address them, in a manner that contributes to supporting security and stability in the region.

The Ministry of Defense stated that the signing of this agreement marks an important milestone in the trajectory of military and defense cooperation between the two countries, as it provides a supportive framework for enhancing operational coordination, exchanging expertise, and raising the level of readiness and integration between the armed forces, thereby serving shared interests and contributing to the support of regional security and stability.
