Meteorology: Humidity reaches 90%.. and fog

The Meteorology Department stated: “The country is experiencing extremely hot weather, with high relative humidity, particularly in coastal areas, and reduced horizontal visibility due to fog until Thursday morning.” Deputy Director of the Department, Derrar Al-Ali, explained that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is affected by an extension of the Indian monsoon low, accompanied by a hot and humid air mass, especially over coastal regions, leading to increased humidity levels. He added that the country is witnessing reduced horizontal visibility in some areas, particularly coastal ones, due to fog formation, while winds are variable in direction, southeasterly, and light to moderate in speed. Al-Ali noted that humidity levels will range between 30% and 90% over the next 48 hours, urging individuals with asthma, chronic diseases, and allergies, as well as children, to exercise caution when going out amid rising temperatures and humidity.
