Iranian President: We are in the worst conditions of economic war

As Iran grapples with a severe economic crisis due to U.S. sanctions, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that his country is currently enduring the worst conditions of “economic warfare.” Speaking at a ceremony for the “inauguration of urban development projects” in Tehran today, Pezeshkian said, “We are in the worst situation of economic warfare. Everyone sees the missile war, but not everyone sees the economic pressures. Nevertheless, work continues, and this is commendable.” He added, “With the empathy and cooperation of the people and the responsibility of officials, we are capable of resolving all problems quickly.”

It is worth noting that the United States announced the launch of the “Economic Outcast” operation against Iran, in a broad campaign aimed at tightening the squeeze on the Iranian economy and cutting off funding sources for the regime. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described the campaign as unprecedented, emphasizing that its goal is to sever the arteries of the economy that support the Iranian regime and isolate it from the global financial system.
