Kuwait and China: Developing Strategic Partnerships

Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, met today, Monday, with Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, during his official visit to the Chinese capital, Beijing.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the meeting reviewed the close historical ties between the two friendly countries and ways to develop and strengthen the existing strategic partnership. It was emphasized that the current year marks a significant milestone in Kuwait-China relations, coinciding with the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The release added that both sides stressed their commitment to enhancing Kuwait-China cooperation across all fields and intensifying coordination and consultation at various levels, thereby advancing bilateral relations to higher levels and serving the shared interests of the two friendly nations.

It further noted that the meeting discussed developments in regional and international affairs and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, foremost among them developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability.
