Foreign Minister and Chinese Vice President Discuss Bilateral Relations and Development of Strategic Partnerships

Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, met today, Monday, with Han Zheng, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, during his official visit to the Chinese capital, Beijing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and support him; His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect and support him; and His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, may God protect and support him, to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, Premier of the State Council Li Qiang, and Vice President Han Zheng, and conveyed their best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the Chinese government and people. The statement noted that the meeting reviewed the long-standing bilateral relations between the two countries and their friendly peoples, and discussed ways to develop and strengthen the existing strategic partnership across various fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both countries. It also addressed the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of common concern.
