US Treasury Secretary: Today we will launch the largest financial attack on Iran ever

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that the United States would begin at dawn “the largest financial attack on Iran ever.” Bessent added, “The day of economic reckoning for Iran is coming; our goal is to cut off every economic lifeline that sustains the tyrannical Iranian regime.” He continued, “The alternative for countries that tie their fate to Tehran is the closure of any path to sustainable prosperity.” He further stated, “Any state that acts as a financial lifeline for the Iranian regime should expect to share in its isolation.” Bessent also affirmed that any military action undertaken by Iran against U.S. forces or against Gulf states would be met by U.S. President Donald Trump with swift and resolute retaliation.
