Private Universities: Registration Opens for Domestic Scholarships for English-Syllabus High School Graduates on Monday
Faisal Matar: The General Secretariat of the Council of Private Universities has opened applications for the internal scholarships program for high school graduates of the English “I.G.C.S.E.” program for the 2026–2027 academic year, starting Monday until August 30.
The Secretariat clarified in an announcement published on the “X” platform that registration is open to Kuwaitis, children of diplomats, and persons with special needs, and can be completed electronically via the official website of the Council of Private Universities. It emphasized that applications submitted outside the specified deadlines will not be accepted.
The scholarship program covers a number of private universities and colleges, offering bachelor’s and diploma programs. The American University in Kuwait has offered majors in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, media studies, administration, international relations, accounting, information systems, graphic design, finance, English language, and social and behavioral sciences.
The program also includes diverse majors, such as the Bachelor of Laws and the Diploma in Law at the Kuwait International Law College. Meanwhile, Gulf University for Science and Technology has offered majors in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, media, accounting, English language with its various specializations, information systems management, business administration with its various specializations, and finance.
At the Australian University, bachelor’s majors include information systems management, aviation and airport operations, banking and finance, while diploma majors encompass civil engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, networks, electrical and electronics maintenance engineering, marine sciences, human resources management, logistics services, maritime navigation monitoring, business administration, and accounting.
The program has also made available at the Kuwait College of Science and Technology majors in electronics and communications engineering, computer engineering, and computer science, subject to the minimum grade thresholds specified for each major in the scholarship program.
The American International University has also offered a number of bachelor’s majors, including civil engineering, medical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, biotechnology, computer science, mathematics education, business administration, finance, interior design, graphic design, accounting, administration, logistics supply chain management, and English language education.
Diploma majors offered at the Aviation Technology College include engine and airframe engineering, and electrical and electronics engineering.
At the American University of the Middle East, bachelor’s majors include computer engineering, electrical engineering, artificial intelligence science and applications, architecture, civil engineering, information systems and technology, accounting, information systems management, human resources management, and finance.
As for diploma programs at the American University of the Middle East, they include computer engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, civil engineering technology, information technology, and business administration with its various specializations. Meanwhile, Kuwait Tech College has offered majors in cybersecurity, information systems management, information technology systems with their various specializations, and accounting.
Buckingham College in Kuwait has offered diploma majors in website development, business administration, interior design and decoration, hospitality services, and graphic design.
Diploma majors offered at the Canadian Gencoin College include computer programming, business administration and entrepreneurship, interactive media design, accounting, internet applications, and network development.
