Sabah Al-Ahmad for Talent: Developing Kuwaiti Students' Capabilities and Preparing Them for International Competitions

The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, one of the centers under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, announced the opening of registration for training programs qualifying participants for the national “STEM Racing” competition, which combines engineering, technology, innovation, and competitive spirit. In a statement, the center said the training program aims to develop students’ capabilities and prepare them for international competitions through a comprehensive educational and practical experience that enables them to apply principles of aerodynamics, mechanics, and manufacturing in the design and construction of high-performance racing cars. It clarified that the training enables students to acquire advanced technical skills using a range of specialized engineering tools and technologies, including computer-aided design (CAD), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), computer numerical control (CNC) manufacturing, and 3D printing. The training is not limited to the technical aspect; the program also focuses on developing project management, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills, alongside building identity and branding, thereby providing students with a holistic experience that integrates engineering, technical, and creative dimensions. The center noted that the program seeks to enhance excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through a practical educational experience that simulates real-world challenges, contributes to developing problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration skills, and prepares students for international competitions. The program offers participants the opportunity to compete at the national level and qualify to represent Kuwait in the world finals of the “STEM Racing” competition in Singapore.
