Kuwait signs Firas Al-Khatib to drive Al-Abiad in the new season

Al-Arabi Club announced the signing of Syrian coach Firas Al-Khatib, former manager of Al-Salmiya, Al-Nasr, and Al-Fahaheel, to lead the club’s first team in the upcoming season. He replaces Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, who had taken charge during the pre-season preparations, succeeding Montenegrin Nebojša Jovović. The appointment comes amid efforts to improve the team’s performance, particularly after a decline in results during the pre-season training camp held in London, the UK, ahead of the new season. Al-Arabi aims to compete for titles next season, kicking off their campaign on Tuesday against Al-Arabi in the opening match of the Zenith Premier League at the First Division level. Meanwhile, the club is participating in the Asian level, representing the country in the 2025 AFC Champions League Two, having qualified directly for the tournament after winning the AFC Challenge League last season.
