Musical evening celebrating the richness of Kuwaiti folk arts

The “Al-Fan Al-Aseel for Folk Arts” troupe revived the atmosphere of authentic Kuwaiti art during a musical evening hosted at The Avenues Mall, where it presented a diverse array of folk and traditional arts that reflected the richness and diversity of Kuwait’s cultural heritage, as part of the “Summer Cultural Festival 18” events. “Al-Fan Al-Aseel” is one of the Kuwaiti folk troupes registered with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters; it was founded in 2012 and officially registered in 2022. Under the leadership of Mubarak Al-Shatti, the troupe performs various forms of Kuwaiti folk arts, including Ardah, maritime arts, Al-Sout, Samri, Al-Liwa, and Al-Tanbura, in addition to its participation in numerous events and festivals both within Kuwait and abroad. The troupe strives to preserve Kuwait’s folk heritage and strengthen its presence in the cultural landscape, particularly among younger generations, by presenting traditional arts in a manner that highlights their cultural and artistic value, while also supporting and encouraging youth to participate in safeguarding national identity and ensuring the transmission of this artistic and cultural legacy to future generations.
