Trump: Consider the Strait of Hormuz currently as American territory

U.S. President Donald Trump said he does not know with whom he can negotiate in Iran, noting that most Iranian leaders have been killed and that he does not believe anyone wants to assume the presidency in the country. Trump reiterated his claim that “the Strait of Hormuz is currently American territory,” affirming that the United States will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons. He stressed that Iran is eager to reach a deal, predicting that energy prices will drop once operations related to Iran conclude. Trump added, “Iran is very eager to reach an agreement, but we don’t know if we want to,” and stated, “Our military is stronger than it has ever been.” Earlier, Trump said that while Iran is keen to strike a deal, it is still not ready to conclude the appropriate agreement. In a late-Friday speech, Trump noted that Iran’s inflation rate is extremely high, reaching 300%, and pointed out that Tehran cannot afford to pay the salaries of its soldiers and police officers. He affirmed that the United States has full control over the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that shifting to an economic war against Iran does not mean U.S. military options are limited.
