Qalibaf: If the Iranian people go hungry, we will not endure, even with military power.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf stated that Iran “will not be able to endure if the Iranian people go hungry,” even if it possesses military strength. Speaking at a meeting with Iraqi and Iranian economists in Baghdad, Qalibaf said, “No matter how strong our military might be, if people are hungry and we lack financial activity, economic growth, and domestic production, we will not be able to endure.” He added, “Security and the economy are two wings that complement each other; if security is not achieved, investments will not come, and if security is achieved without an accompanying economy that ensures its continuity, it will not be sustainable.”
