Iraqi Parliament Speaker Responds to His Iranian Counterpart with an Image of the Arabian Gulf

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Heibat al-Halbousi posted images on his X account featuring a map labeled “Arabian Gulf,” in response to his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf. The Iranian parliament speaker had simultaneously posted a photo of himself with a map of the Arabian Gulf showing the Strait of Hormuz and both shores of the gulf, accompanied by the caption “Persian Gulf.” Later, al-Halbousi posted a similar image of himself with the caption “Arabian Gulf,” displaying the full geographical map of the gulf, in reply to his Iranian counterpart. Qalibaf visited Iraq on Wednesday, holding a series of meetings with political, governmental, and religious leaders, and met with his Iraqi counterpart, during which they held a meeting in the parliament building in the Green Zone of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
