Minister of Electricity: Leveraging Innovative Projects in Digital Transformation, Energy, and Conservation

Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Al-Muhaizim, emphasized the importance of leveraging innovative ideas and projects that support the ministry’s plans in the fields of digital transformation, energy efficiency, and consumption rationalization, in line with the state’s direction toward sustainability and innovation.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Electricity following his meeting on Thursday with the team participating in the “2026 Korea AI in Action Program” for deploying artificial intelligence technologies in the field of smart meters, organized by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences in collaboration with Korea University, Minister Al-Muhaizim highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives and projects that utilize modern technologies and artificial intelligence to find practical solutions to challenges facing the electricity and energy sectors. He commended the team’s efforts and their focus on developing a project linked to one of the ministry’s key digital transformation initiatives.
During the meeting, the team presented an explanation of their project idea, detailing how to utilize data provided by smart meters and deploy artificial intelligence technologies to analyze electricity consumption patterns. This aims to enhance usage efficiency, support conservation efforts, and develop innovative solutions that enable greater utilization of the smart metering system.
According to the statement, the team members drew inspiration for their project from the national energy and water conservation campaign “Wafar” (Save), with its objectives and messages aimed at strengthening the culture of conservation and improving resource consumption efficiency. They worked to translate these goals into an innovative technology based on artificial intelligence and smart meter data, thereby supporting conservation efforts and promoting optimal energy use.
Attending the meeting were Undersecretary Dr. Adel Al-Zamil and the participating team members, including Nawar Al-Rashidi, Ghaliyah Al-Muhaizim, Fawzan Al-Fahad, and Jaraah Al-Mulifi.
