Ministry of Interior: 22 suspects arrested in 13 different cases with quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances in their possession

The Ministry of Interior, through its General Directorate for the Suppression of Narcotics, announced the arrest of 22 suspects in 13 separate cases, in possession of quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances with intent to traffic and consume. In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry said this step comes as part of ongoing security efforts to combat the scourge of drugs and pursue their traffickers. The statement clarified that the operations resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine (shabu), heroin, and paper sheets soaked in chemical substances, alongside tablets of psychotropic drugs, quantities of marijuana and hashish, marijuana seeds, sensitive scales, and several drug-use paraphernalia. It further noted that all suspects and seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action.
