Sadu motifs adorn medals and brooches with creative touches

With enthusiasm and passion, participants in an art workshop hosted by the Bayt Al Sadu (Woven House) employed heritage symbols and motifs to create medals and brooches featuring contemporary artistic touches. The workshop, titled “Production of Medals and Brooches with Heritage Designs,” was held as part of the activities of the “Summer Cultural Festival 18,” organized by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters.

The workshop was led by Eman Al-Kandari and Dima Al-Mari, who introduced participants to the fundamentals of designing and producing medals and brooches inspired by heritage elements, using various materials and artistic techniques. They also demonstrated how to utilize these elements and transform them into contemporary artistic pieces suitable for everyday use.

In a statement to KUNA, workshop presenter Eman Al-Kandari said that the heritage-themed medal and brooch production workshop is part of the sessions of the “Summer Cultural Festival 18,” which the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters is keen to organize during the summer season. The aim is to enrich the knowledge of enthusiasts of these arts and provide them with opportunities to develop their craft and creative skills.

She added that craft skills play an important role in developing the personalities of their practitioners, emphasizing that manual work has a profoundly positive impact on the psyche, especially in light of the accelerating pace of life and the dominance of technology.
