Indian Ambassador: Our relations with Kuwait are solid and based on mutual respect

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, praised the deep, historic, and well-established ties between her country and Kuwait, emphasizing that they are founded on mutual respect, goodwill, and strong people-to-people links. She highlighted the valuable contribution of the Indian community residing in Kuwait and their role in strengthening bilateral relations.

This came during the Indian Embassy’s celebration yesterday morning of the 80th anniversary of India’s Independence, attended by more than 2,000 members of the Indian community, distinguished guests, and friends of India, in an atmosphere marked by patriotic enthusiasm and celebration of India’s cultural diversity and shared national identity.

The Independence Day ceremonies began with Ambassador Tripathi laying wreaths at the “Shilavalkam,” a memorial dedicated to Indian freedom fighters, and at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, the founder of modern India. Attendees then joined in a collective recitation of the patriotic song “Vande Mataram,” coinciding with the 150th anniversary of its composition.

Following this, Ambassador Tripathi hoisted the Indian national flag, after which the national anthem, “Jana Gana Mana,” was played, with widespread participation from the Indian community. Ambassador Tripathi then read the address delivered by the President of India to the Indian nation on the eve of the 80th Independence anniversary. The address outlined India’s achievements, aspirations, and its journey toward comprehensive development and progress under the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”

As part of global celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Independence, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait joined Indian missions worldwide in the “Surya Path Tiranga” global march, which celebrates the journey of the Indian tricolor flag, “Tiranga,” around the world as a symbol of national pride, unity, and shared identity.

Prior to the main event, the Embassy organized a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the participation of the Indian community in Kuwait. These included the creative campaign “My India, My Story,” a photography competition titled “India Through My Lens,” and a drawing competition titled “Draw Your Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047,” all of which witnessed widespread interest and significant participation from community members.

Ambassador Tripathi honored the winners of the three competitions, presenting them with certificates of appreciation. A selection of the participating artworks was also displayed at the Embassy premises, reflecting the creativity, talent, and patriotic spirit of the Indian community in Kuwait.
