Kuwait: We condemn the heinous Iranian attack on two tankers belonging to the UAE's ADNOC

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and rejection of the Iranian attack on two tankers belonging to ADNOC, the UAE state-owned oil company, as they were transiting the Strait of Hormuz. It emphasized that targeting commercial vessels and international sea lanes constitutes a violation of international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and poses a threat to maritime security, as well as to the stability of energy supplies and international trade. The Ministry stressed the necessity of halting all actions that could escalate tensions in the region, respecting freedom of navigation and safe passage through international straits, and fully and unconditionally reopening the Strait of Hormuz. It also reaffirmed Kuwait’s full solidarity with the sisterly United Arab Emirates, standing by its side in all measures it takes to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and interests.
