UAE condemns targeting of two ADNOC tankers while transiting the Strait of Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates expressed its strong condemnation and outrage over the aggressive Iranian attack that targeted two ADNOC-owned tankers while they were transiting the Strait of Hormuz, with no injuries reported. In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the necessity for Iran to halt these aggressive attacks, thereby ensuring its full commitment to ceasing all hostile acts and reopening the strait completely and unconditionally, in order to safeguard regional security and the stability of the global economy and trade. It affirmed that this attack constitutes a blatant violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which underscores freedom of navigation and rejects the targeting of commercial vessels or the disruption of international maritime routes. The UAE stressed that targeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool for economic pressure or coercion constitutes acts of piracy by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, posing a direct threat to regional stability, its peoples, and global energy security.
