Kuwait Youth National Team departs for Thailand in preparation for the Asian qualifiers

The Kuwait national under-20 youth team delegation departs today for Thailand, where it will hold a two-week training camp before moving on to Cambodia in preparation for the Asian Cup qualifiers. The qualifiers will be hosted in Cambodia from September 31 to October 6, 2024.

The Young Blues will compete in Group 7 of the Asian qualifiers alongside Cambodia, Japan, and Yemen. All four teams are vying for a spot in the final tournament, scheduled to take place in China from March 24 to April 10, 2027.

Under Croatian coach Vedro Milin, the Young Blues have been conducting daily training sessions in Kuwait over the past few weeks to improve the players’ physical fitness at the start of the preparation phase, as well as to work on technical aspects. Last week, they held an internal camp, during which they played two friendly matches against Jordan in Kuwait.

The team will continue its training program in Bangkok in the coming days, with 26 players expected to be announced by the coaching staff last night for the camp, before finalizing the 23-man squad for the qualifiers.

During the Thai training camp, the Young Blues are also expected to play two additional friendly matches as part of the final preparations for the continental qualifiers.
