Public Works: 82% completion rate of infrastructure in Qurtaaba

Faisal Matar: Teams from the Ministry of Public Works continued their field follow-up of the contract for implementing infrastructure works in the Qurtaiba area, under the directives of Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, who emphasized the necessity of on-site supervision and adherence to the schedule and approved technical specifications, to ensure the project is completed within the contractual period.
Yesterday (Thursday), Engineering Affairs Director General Eng. Anwar Al-Balushi conducted a field visit to monitor the contract, which began implementation on April 3, 2024, has a duration of three years, and is scheduled to conclude on April 2, 2027. According to the approved schedule, the progress reached 75.50% to date, while the actual executed progress stood at 82%.
Regarding completed works, the sewage network implementation reached 97%, the stormwater drainage network reached 97%, the telephone network reached 99%, and the street lighting network reached 96%. Additionally, the progress of laying the asphalt layers (Type 1 & Type 2) reached approximately 78.9%, while the implementation of the asphalt layer (Type 3) reached approximately 15.2%.
