Gaza Civil Defense: The Strip is suffocating from the heat, and tents are turning into ovens

Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip, warned of the harsh humanitarian conditions faced by displaced people amid soaring temperatures, stating that tents have turned into ovens. Basal said that citizens in the Gaza Strip, particularly those living in tents, are enduring extremely difficult conditions as heat waves intensify and temperatures rise. He added that the tents, which house large numbers of displaced persons, have become an extremely harsh environment due to the high heat, exacerbating the suffering of residents who already face difficult humanitarian conditions. The plight of displaced people in the Strip is worsening with the continuation of heat waves, amid limited resources to mitigate the effects of rising temperatures and provide a safe and suitable living environment.
