Decree renewing the appointment of Abdullah Al-Meshal Al-Sabah as Deputy Minister of Defense

Decree No. 125 of 2026 was issued to renew the appointment of Dr. Abdullah Mubarak Al-Sabah as Deputy Minister of Defense for a period of four years, effective from December 26, 2026. Article One of the decree, published in the Official Gazette (Kuwait Today) in its issue released yesterday (Sunday), states that the renewal shall be valid for four years from the aforementioned date. Article Two stipulates that the Minister of Defense shall be responsible for implementing the decree and that it shall be published in the Official Gazette.

The issuance of the decree was based on a proposal from the Minister of Defense and with the approval of the Council of Ministers, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, the Emiri Amiri Order issued in May 2024, and the laws and regulations governing civil service, as well as Decree No. 246 of 2022, which regulates the appointment of the Deputy Minister of Defense.

The renewal of Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Mubarak Al-Sabah as Deputy Minister of Defense is a recognition of his competence and extensive experience, as well as his achievements in institutional and administrative development, in line with the Ministry’s strategic direction to invest in human capital.

Dr. Abdullah Mubarak Al-Sabah is considered one of the prominent national talents. Since assuming his position, he has contributed to enhancing the development plan, as well as working to strengthen the regional and international standing and presence of the Ministry of Defense through institutional partnerships and security and military cooperation. Additionally, he has overseen the completion of the Ministry’s comprehensive digital transformation plan, prioritizing the enhancement of cybersecurity and focusing on human capital by investing in the qualification and training of national cadres.
