Women's Housing Committee: Updating Rented Housing Applications via 'Sahel'

The Public Authority for Housing Affairs announced the activation of an electronic service for updating rental housing applications through the “Sahel” government app, in a move aimed by the Women’s Housing Affairs Committee at streamlining procedures. In a statement, the committee said that notifications would be sent via the “Sahel” app to female citizens registered with the Authority who have pending rental housing applications. The notification would include a link to the application update service and instructions for submitting the required documents.
The committee urged all recipients of the update notification to proactively update their information and submit the required documents within 90 days of the announcement date. It clarified that applications not updated within the specified period would be canceled, effective from October 16, 2026.
The documents required for the update are as follows:
- A copy of the civil ID of the primary applicant.
- A copy of the marriage certificate.
- For married women, a copy of the marriage contract; for divorced women, a copy of the divorce certificate; and for widows, a copy of the husband’s death certificate.
- Academic certificates for children covering the last two academic years.
- A certificate from the General Administration of Borders indicating travel movements for the years 2024, 2025, and 2026.
- A certificate from the Real Estate Registration Department confirming that neither the primary applicant nor her spouse owns any real estate.
- A certificate from the Commercial Registry Department.
- A recent certificate from the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, if any family member has a severe or moderate disability.
- A salary certificate; in case of unemployment, a certificate from the Public Authority for Housing Affairs must be provided.
