Kuwait welcomes the UN Security Council members' statement and its condemnation of Houthi militia attacks against Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s welcome for the statement issued by the members of the Security Council on August 7, 2026, which included condemnation of the missile attacks launched by the Houthi militia against the fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since July 13, as well as attacks on commercial ships since July 22. In a statement issued today, Sunday, the Ministry expressed Kuwait’s full appreciation for the statement by Security Council members, which reaffirmed the necessity of adhering to international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216, and respecting the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the fraternal Republic of Yemen. It also condemned actions that threaten regional security and the rights and freedoms of maritime navigation. Kuwait reaffirmed its full solidarity with and support for the fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its measures to safeguard its sovereignty and security. It also reiterated Kuwait’s support for the legitimate Yemeni government and for the efforts of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Yemen, aimed at achieving peace, security, and stability in the fraternal Republic of Yemen.
