Kuwait Olympic Committee to Enhance Sports Cooperation with the Caribbean Region

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) signed an agreement with the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) in Barcelona, Spain, to enhance sports cooperation between Asia and the Caribbean region. The agreement was signed by Sheikh Juma bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the OCA, and Keith Joseph, President of CANOC. The pact provides for the exchange of expertise in organizing sporting events and athlete development, leveraging sports knowledge, and jointly organizing seminars and scientific sports conferences between the two parties. The agreement will be valid for six years, from 2026 to 2032, with the possibility of extension by mutual consent. Sheikh Juma bin Hamad Al Thani, who also serves as President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, stated, “We will exchange information, knowledge, and expertise in the field of sports development.” The OCA comprises 45 National Olympic Committees, while CANOC includes 32 member countries and territories in the Caribbean region.
