Al-Yousef visits Kubbar, Warrah, and Umm Al-Maradim: Enhancing the capabilities of the maritime security system

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif, conducted a field visit today, Saturday, to several islands and maritime centers, to review the progress of operations, assess readiness levels, and monitor measures taken to enhance the security and safety of maritime borders.
Sheikh Al-Yousif began his tour with a visit to the Umm Al-Maradim Island border crossing, where he inspected facilities of the General Directorate of Coast Guard, the General Directorate of Crossings, and the General Directorate of Customs. He reviewed operational procedures and coordination among agencies working at the crossing, emphasizing the importance of integrating efforts and raising coordination standards to ensure efficiency at maritime crossings.
He also visited Qaruh Island, where he inspected ongoing construction works, directing that projects be completed swiftly in accordance with approved schedules. He stressed the need to develop facilities and provide a suitable work and living environment for staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources to perform their duties efficiently.
The tour included Kubbar Island, where he inspected the security situation and the measures implemented to secure the island, and listened to briefings on the nature of field operations and their execution. He commended the efforts of Coast Guard personnel and their role in protecting maritime borders and ensuring the safety of sea travelers.
During the visit, the First Deputy Prime Minister met with several citizens and sea travelers, listening to their opinions and observations regarding the services provided. He reaffirmed the importance of direct communication with them and utilizing their proposals to develop services and improve performance standards.
He directed the continued development of maritime centers and facilities, enhancing their readiness and providing all necessary resources for their staff. He also emphasized strengthening coordination and integration among agencies operating at crossings and islands, thereby supporting the capacity of relevant authorities to perform their duties efficiently and safeguard the security and safety of maritime borders.
