Minister of Education: Revocation of the license of the private Iranian school and its closure

Kuwait officials: Education Minister Jalal Al-Tabatabai issued a ministerial decision revoking the educational license granted to the Iranian private school in Kuwait, based on the provisions of laws and regulations governing private education, and after reviewing reports from the General Administration of Private Education and considering the requirements of the public interest. The decision stipulated the termination of the license renewal decision issued to the school and its closure, while entrusting the General Administration of Private Education with taking the necessary measures to implement the decision. This includes notifying the school to stop accepting new student applications starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, and informing parents of currently enrolled students to take necessary steps to transfer their children to other schools before the start of the 2026/2027 academic year, ensuring their educational stability and preventing any disruption to their academic progress. The Ministry of Education clarified that the decision comes within the framework of applying the laws and regulations governing the private education sector, and reinforcing the principle of compliance with regulatory controls, thereby safeguarding the public interest and ensuring the continuity of the educational process within established legal frameworks. The Ministry of Education emphasized that the General Administration of Private Education will monitor the implementation of all measures outlined in the decision, and coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure the smooth transfer of students to other schools, guaranteeing their uninterrupted continuation of education without any disruption or impact on their academic journey.
