Iranian President: Communication with Mojtaba Khamenei is currently extremely difficult

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that communication with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is “extremely difficult at present.” In an interview broadcast on state television, he added that “his presence is a source of strength for us,” as Iran faces “its most difficult times since the Revolution.” Mojtaba has not appeared in public since assuming the role of Supreme Leader, succeeding his father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed in one of the first strikes launched by the United States and Tel Aviv against Iran. Pezeshkian had said in a video clip published by state media on July 21 that “the level of interaction with the esteemed Iranian Supreme Leader is increasing day by day, and it should increase so that we can solve our problems through his guidance.” Commenting on the repercussions of the assassination of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in earlier strikes this year, Pezeshkian said: “I never imagined that this society and this state would continue, but they have.” He added, “They want to subjugate us, but when we stand with the people, no force can defeat us.”
