WhatsApp Adds '@all' Feature to Notify All Group Members

WhatsApp has launched a new set of updates aimed at improving the group chat experience, most notably the “@all” feature, which allows users to notify all group members with a single action, along with enhancements to polls and the ability to create new groups more quickly. The new feature enables users to type “@all” in group chats to send a notification to all members, similar to the @everyone and @here features available on platforms such as Discord, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. This feature aims to ensure that important or urgent messages reach all participants, although its use may vary from one group to another, as it could in some cases become a means of sending unnecessary notifications. To reduce misuse of the feature, WhatsApp clarified that it will be available only to group admins in groups with more than 32 members. Notifications from @all will continue to appear even if the group is in mute mode, but users can disable notifications for these alerts through notification settings if they do not wish to receive them.
