HEISCO contributes $2 million to support the Emergency Response Fund

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Heavy Engineering Industries and Shipbuilding Company, Marzouq Nasser Al-Kharafi, announced the company’s response to the invitation from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development to contribute to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, established by Cabinet Decision No. 587. This contribution supports national efforts aimed at financing rehabilitation works, strengthening state readiness, and ensuring the continuity of essential services and facilities.

Marzouq Nasser Al-Kharafi clarified that the company’s board of directors decided to contribute a total of two million US dollars to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund. This includes one million dollars in cash support, alongside one million dollars in in-kind support, consisting of providing the necessary machinery, construction and marine equipment, and logistics services to serve state agencies across various affected sectors. This support bolsters rehabilitation efforts and ensures the continuity of vital services.

Al-Kharafi emphasized that this contribution stems from the company’s commitment to its national and social responsibilities, and its steadfast dedication to supporting initiatives that enhance the state’s capacity to confront emergency and exceptional circumstances. It reflects the national role of the private sector in supporting state institutions and safeguarding their achievements, and demonstrates the company’s belief in the importance of coordinated efforts between the public and private sectors.
