Interior Ministry: 23 suspects arrested with drugs and psychotropic substances for trafficking and consumption

The Ministry of Interior, through its General Directorate for Combating Narcotics, announced on Tuesday the arrest of 23 suspects in 12 separate cases involving the possession of narcotics and psychoactive substances with intent to traffic and consume. In a press statement, the Ministry said that the Narcotics Combating Directorate succeeded in apprehending the suspects following intensive surveillance and investigative operations, which led to the seizure of various quantities of narcotics and psychoactive substances intended for trafficking and consumption, as well as sensitive scales, ammunition, a sum of money derived from trafficking proceeds, and bags used for packaging narcotics. It added that this comes within the framework of continuous security efforts and intensive campaigns carried out to combat drug trafficking, noting that the suspects and seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against them. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continuing intensive security operations with firmness to pursue drug dealers and protect society from their dangers, emphasizing that there will be no leniency in applying the law against anyone proven to be involved in trafficking, distribution, consumption, or any activity related to narcotics and psychoactive substances.
