Issa Al-Kandari: Political leadership guides the country with wisdom and competence in confronting the evil Iranian aggression
Former Deputy Prime Minister Isa Al-Kandari stated that the political leadership is guiding the country with wisdom and competence in confronting the evil Iranian aggression. Al-Kandari said, “The 36th anniversary of the brutal Iraqi invasion is being marked, coinciding with the passage of five months since the evil Iranian attacks on Kuwait. In both of these unjust aggressions, a single truth emerges: the cohesion of Kuwaitis, their defense of their beloved homeland’s soil, and their sacrifice of their lives and wealth as ransom for Kuwait.”
He added, “Kuwait’s geographical position has placed it in a region and neighborhood that has not ceased to be a hotspot for tensions and conflicts for decades. However, the obvious truth, on which no one disagrees, is that God Almighty has preserved this virtuous land despite the covetousness of those with ulterior motives and the attempts of aggressors. Blessed and victorious rulers, supported by God’s victory and grace, have successfully steered the country and its ship to safe shores for over three centuries. The people of Kuwait have unanimously loved and remained loyal to them and to the pure soil of their homeland, Kuwait.
“Today, we witness the anniversary of the invasion, which the Kuwaiti people endured for seven months, offering sacrifices and martyrs until liberation came by God’s will. We all saw the late Emir, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad, may God have mercy on him, kissing the liberated and God-protected soil of Kuwait. Today, we see how the current ruler of Kuwait, His Highness the Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, successfully and competently leads the country, with the support of Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled and their government, in handling the developments and events of the treacherous Iranian attacks on Kuwait. Through coordination and consultation with allies, friends, and brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council, the people of Kuwait feel secure and stable. Despite economic difficulties and the deprivation caused by the halt in oil sales—the source of livelihood for Kuwaitis—nothing is lacking in their daily lives.
“Furthermore, as we recall the martyrs of Kuwait in these two aggressions and the sacrifices they made, we fervently pray to God Almighty to protect Kuwait, its Emir, its Crown Prince, and its people from all harm and evil, to spare it and the region from the disasters and calamities of war, and to bring us out of this situation unharmed, O Lord of the Worlds.”
