Governors of the Country: Renewing the Pledge to Safeguard the Nation's Security, Sovereignty, and National Unity

Governors of Kuwait’s governorates affirmed that the anniversary of the brutal Iraqi invasion of Kuwait is a national milestone that inspires remembrance of the patriotism, sacrifices, and heroic deeds of the nation’s sons, and serves to draw lessons on resilience and the highest values of loyalty and belonging to the country. In separate statements to KUNA, the governors noted that this anniversary underscores that Kuwait’s security, sovereignty, and the dignity of its people are immutable constants that tolerate no infringement, and that national unity will remain an impregnable fortress in confronting challenges. They prayed to God Almighty to protect Kuwait, to perpetuate its blessings of security, safety, and stability under the leadership of His Highness the Emir, His Highness the Crown Prince, and His Highness the Prime Minister, and to have mercy on Kuwait’s righteous martyrs.

Governor of the Capital, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, said that August 2 will remain etched in the memory of every Kuwaiti, bearing witness to the blatant aggression and violation of sovereignty suffered by the State of Kuwait, as well as to the cohesion of the nation’s sons, their steadfastness to their legitimate leadership, and their conviction in the justice of their cause.
