Interior Ministry: 1,253 wanted persons and violators apprehended during the ongoing security campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh
The Ministry of Interior announced the apprehension of 1,253 wanted individuals and violators of the residency and labor laws as part of the ongoing comprehensive security campaign in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, implemented under the directives of Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
In a press statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Interior said the campaign, led by Assistant Undersecretary for Security Affairs Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahab and in coordination with relevant government entities, is a continuation of field measures aimed at eliminating violations, enhancing security and public order, and addressing existing irregularities in the area.
It added that security agencies and field teams continue their operations in cooperation with the competent government authorities, including inspecting vacated residences and monitoring and apprehending any attempts to violate security measures and decisions issued by the relevant authorities.
The statement clarified that the campaign also resulted in the apprehension of 36 children born out of wedlock, accompanied by their mothers, with necessary legal measures taken against them and their referral to the competent authorities.
The statement noted that the Kuwait Municipality issued 777 violation reports, removed 27 abandoned vehicles, and placed 64 warning notices on abandoned vehicles, in addition to carrying out cleaning operations in Al-Tamayoz Private School Street, Street 162, and the surrounding streets, while continuing inspection rounds to monitor violations.
It added that the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy reduced electrical loads in the Farwaniya Governorate by 60 percent following the disconnection of electricity from 1,200 non-compliant residences. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works identified 1,432 houses at risk of collapse, closed 22 illegal sewage connections, and treated 60 cases of sewage overflow in the area’s streets.
The statement indicated that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued 256 seizure reports and issued 10 closure orders. The Ministry of Health treated 784 cases at the shelter center and referred 61 cases to hospitals, while the General Fireforce implemented 188 administrative closure orders.
It pointed out that the Public Authority for Environment issued 90 violation reports for environmental offenses and referred them to the Public Prosecution, while continuing inspection rounds to monitor irregularities and violations. Meanwhile, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition issued 315 violation reports and 9 reports for the destruction of food materials, and submitted 12 requests to close non-compliant establishments.
The statement noted that the Public Authority for Manpower conducted 6,511 inspection cases on shops and investment establishments, apprehended 1,471 non-compliant establishments, and took legal measures against them. It also physically examined 376 individuals, identified 129 cases of paying money for residency, and referred 110 individuals from the Expatriate Labor Shelter Center to the Deportation Department, while continuing inspection rounds in the area to monitor irregularities and violations.
The Ministry of Interior added that previous stages of the campaign resulted in the evacuation of non-compliant residences and the apprehension of large numbers of wanted individuals and violators of the residency and labor laws.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized, according to the statement, that security campaigns will continue and will cover all non-compliant areas according to an integrated field plan, stressing that all legal measures will be taken against anyone proven to have committed a violation, thereby contributing to preserving security and public order, preventing the recurrence of irregularities and violations, and enhancing the quality of life.
