Gulf Football Federation Reveals Official Identity and New Name

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Football Federation announced today, Thursday, its official identity and new name, signaling the start of a new phase in its journey and strengthening its institutional presence while keeping pace with the developments witnessed by Gulf football across various global arenas. The federation stated on its website that “based on a new vision that links the heritage of the past with future aspirations, we are unveiling our official identity and new name, reflecting a qualitative leap in our journey.” It clarified that this includes updating its visual identity and adopting its new name, the “Gulf Cooperation Council Football Federation,” instead of the “Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation,” thereby reflecting its strategic vision aimed at consolidating its position as a leading sports platform and building a modern presence that embodies the spirit of the game and the aspirations of Gulf football under one umbrella. The new logo embodies values of trust, vitality, and modernity, and carries connotations inspired by the region’s identity, culture, and heritage, while simultaneously expressing the rapid development witnessed by Gulf football and inspiring upcoming generations. The logo features a distinctive visual element: a dynamic strip that reflects the movement and fluidity characteristic of football, symbolizing the federation’s renewed identity, which stands for connectivity, trust, harmony, and shared ambition. On this occasion, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, President of the Gulf Cooperation Council Football Federation, said, “We are going through a pivotal moment in our growth journey, and it is essential to adopt a new identity that reflects the transformative journey we are preparing to embark on in the coming decades.” He added, “Our vision for the future remains steadfast; we aspire to contribute to enhancing the presence of Gulf football and the success of its national teams and clubs on the global stage,” clarifying that this new identity “embodies our ambitions to achieve unprecedented levels of excellence and success.” He further noted that “over the past years, we have been able to build strategic partnerships that have supported the development of Gulf football and strengthened the growth of the federation’s tournaments, consolidating the status of its competitions and reflecting the growing passion for football in the region, thereby paving the way toward new horizons of excellence and success.”
