"Shield of Bahrain" Exercise with GCC Forces: A Strong Gulf Force to Deter Treacherous Aggressions
As part of Gulf cooperation and coordination to implement joint exercises aimed at enhancing combat performance levels, Kuwait and the armed forces of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states participated in the joint exercise “Bahrain Shield,” which showcased the robust Gulf military strength capable of confronting various challenges and deterring any treacherous aggression.
Yesterday (Wednesday), Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defense Force, Lieutenant General Diab Al-Nuaimi, emphasized the Bahrain Defense Force’s commitment to conducting joint exercises to elevate combat performance standards. This contributes to gaining more field experience, improving the capacity for planning logistical operations, and creating a fertile environment for exchanging expertise and harmonizing concepts among participating forces, alongside strengthening frameworks for joint military cooperation and coordination.
This statement came during Al-Nuaimi’s inspection of the ongoing joint exercise conducted by the Bahrain Defense Force from July 28 to 30, involving the armed forces of the fraternal GCC member states.
He noted that the “Bahrain Shield” exercise represents a practical consolidation of the established approach to strengthening the pillars of joint military construction among the GCC armed forces, under the keen interest and gracious patronage of the GCC heads of state. It also underscores the fraternal bonds uniting these nations in pursuit of goodness, strength, and deterrence.
He pointed out that the significance of this exercise lies in its role as a solid strategic starting point for military solidarity and a firm cornerstone for standing united against any treacherous aggression and for decisive deterrence against anyone targeting the security of the Arab Gulf states or threatening the safety of their citizens and national interests, in blatant violation of all international covenants, treaties, and laws.
He added that the treacherous aggressions witnessed in the region dictate the development of joint defensive military cooperation based on kinship ties and deep historical fraternal bonds. He expressed confidence that this exercise represents a solid step in strengthening our ranks and building joint Gulf action characterized by high readiness and rapid response to take all collective measures and fulfill shared defensive responsibilities to preserve the security and stability of the GCC member states and repel any threats to their sovereignty and stability.
