Municipality employees required to approve the social allowance every six months

The Acting Director General of the Municipality, Yousef Al-Azmi, issued a directive mandating all municipality employees to submit their social allowance declaration every six months through the Sahel application. Al-Azmi stated that this decision was based on directives from the Civil Service Diwan dated June 14, 2026, regarding the launch of a new service via the Sahel application to submit social status data declarations for employees of government entities. This measure aims to simplify procedures and expedite transactions without the need to visit the Human Resources Department, by sending a notification requiring employees to confirm the accuracy of their social status data.
Al-Azmi directed all municipality employees to comply with the new mechanism, emphasizing that they must declare their social status data upon receiving the specific notification via the Sahel application, without needing to visit the Human Resources Department, every six months. He noted that an employee’s confirmation of the accuracy of their social status data through the Sahel application carries the same legal effects as paper documents and written signatures in terms of evidence and legal proof.
He clarified that, according to Article 7 of the Civil Service Council decision, any individual who submits false or inaccurate data with the intent to obtain a social allowance exceeding what they are entitled to, shall be subject to disciplinary action and required to refund any amounts received without justification.
Al-Azmi directed the Human Resources Department to review the declarations submitted by municipality employees through the Sahel program, identify those who have not submitted their social allowance declarations, and take the necessary legal actions.
