Reuters: Drone attack on US-owned LNG storage facility in Damietta, Egypt

Reuters reported on Wednesday that Empire Maritime Security said at least one drone attack had targeted a floating liquefied natural gas storage facility owned by the United States, operated by the U.S., and flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, in Damietta, Egypt. It added that “no group has claimed responsibility for the incident, and there are no reports of injuries or damage to port infrastructure.” No official statement has been issued by the Egyptian government regarding the incident so far. Reuters also cited two security sources as saying that Egyptian gas storage tankers at the port of Damietta “may have been attacked by drones.”
