Minister of Social Affairs: Kuwait is the responsibility of the Supply Branch Manager at the Cooperative Societies

The Ministry of Social Affairs announced on Tuesday the commencement of “Kuwaitizing” the position of Supply Branch Manager within the support roles at cooperative societies, in accordance with directives from Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail. The ministry clarified in a press statement that it had issued a circular to the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies to immediately begin Kuwaitizing this position by selecting from national talents employed by the societies who meet the job requirements, granting them priority in the nomination and appointment procedures. It added that this step aligns with the state’s directions and cabinet decisions regarding the policy of replacement and Kuwaitization of jobs, and aims to strengthen the participation of national cadres in the cooperative sector, empower citizens to hold supervisory and support positions, and enhance institutional performance efficiency. The ministry further clarified in its circular, issued by the General Directorate of Cooperative Affairs, that the position of Supply Branch Manager cannot be held by non-Kuwaitis as long as a qualified Kuwaiti candidate meeting the job requirements is available. It specified that if no national talent is available within a society to fill the position, the ministry must be notified of the reasons for the unavailability so that appropriate measures can be taken in coordination with relevant authorities to provide suitable national talents, thereby ensuring the achievement of the desired objectives of the Kuwaitization policy.
