Kuwait Youth Handball Team Secures Fifth Place at the Asian Championship

Kuwait’s national youth handball team secured fifth place in the overall standings of the 19th Asian Championship, after defeating Chinese Taipei 30-29 in the match that determined fifth and sixth places. The tournament also served as a qualifier for the 2027 World Cup in North Macedonia. The Asian Championship kicked off on the 15th of this month in Suzhou, China, and concluded yesterday with the participation of 13 teams. The top four teams earned their spots at the World Cup.

In the match details, Kuwait trailed by just one goal (14-13) at halftime. The young Kuwaiti players returned for the second half with improved performance, greater energy, and determination, turning the tables on their opponents to secure fifth place in the Asian Championship. Kuwaiti player Salem Al-Mahmoud was named the best player of the match.

Al-Mahmoud, the standout performer, received the best player award after delivering exceptional performances throughout the game, particularly in the second half, where he helped Kuwait overturn their deficit to claim victory.
