Kuwait and China sign contract for construction and maintenance of Kabd Al-Shamaliyah water treatment plant

Faisal Matar: Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, the State of Kuwait today hosted the signing ceremony for the contract on the construction, operation, and maintenance of the North Kabd Wastewater Treatment Plant and its associated works, marking the second cooperation agreement with the friendly People’s Republic of China.

The contract was signed on behalf of the State of Kuwait by Dr. Noura Mohammed Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works, in the presence of H.E. Yang Xin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Kuwait.

This project follows the State of Kuwait’s desire to implement strategic initiatives that enhance the quality of infrastructure, promote environmental sustainability, and improve the efficiency of the wastewater treatment system, keeping pace with urban growth and supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals and Kuwait’s future vision.

The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Fahad Yousef Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salim Al-Sabah, Minister of Defense; Sheikh Khaled Mohammed Al-Khaled, Acting Head of the Prime Minister’s Diwan; and Eid Al-Rashidi, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works.
