14 Proposed Sites for Mobile Vehicles on the 'Commerce' Agenda

The Council of Ministers has tasked Minister of Commerce and Industry Osama Al-Boudi with studying the proposed locations for mobile vehicles put forward by the Kuwait Municipality, totaling 14 sites. During its meeting held on June 30, 2026, the Council of Ministers reviewed the recommendation contained in the minutes of the meeting of the State General Structural Planning Committee and Urban Policies, as well as the letter from the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, which included the Kuwait Municipality’s proposal regarding mobile vehicle sites in urban areas, as follows:

• Al-Madina – Al-Qibla, Plot 14, with an area of 1,170 square meters.

• Al-Madina – Green Belt, with an area of 6,500 square meters.

• Shuwaikh Health Area, with an area of 14,541 square meters.

• Northwest Al-Jahra Area, with an area of 6,216 square meters.

• Two proposed sites within the First Industrial and Artisanal Al-Jahra Area, with areas of 12,901 square meters and 11,732 square meters.

• Andalus, Plot 12, with an area of 9,612 square meters.

• Al-Aridiyah Area for Government Uses, with an area of 6,655 square meters.

• In front of Al-Shaddadiyah University, with an area of 5,639.52 square meters.

• West Abu Halifa Area, with an area of 6,947 square meters.

• Two proposed sites in the South Salmiya Area, with areas of 6,752 square meters and 6,000 square meters.

• Two proposed sites south of Abdullah Port Chalets and Al-Dabaiyah Chalets, with areas of 7,000 square meters and 7,000 square meters.

Commerce Report: The Council of Ministers reviewed a letter from the Minister of Commerce and Industry, attached with the periodic report on the mobile food carts (food trucks) project, which outlined the allocation of five sites by the Municipality for mobile vehicles, each with an area of 5,000 square meters. These sites are: Jal Al-Zour, Al-Naaima, Al-Shaqaya, Kabd, and Arifjan.

The report clarified that works completed by the Ministry of Public Works include land leveling according to site requirements, laying a microlayer and spraying it with Prime Coat adhesive material, and installing concrete barriers around the land designated for mobile vehicles.

It further stated that works completed by the General Services Administration (Ministry of Commerce and Industry) included planning the land designated for each vehicle in terms of parking spaces, entrance, and exit; supplying and installing one main directional sign per site; supplying and installing 38 directional signs for vehicle parking per site; preparing and supplying one rest area per site; supplying two toilets and one water tank per site.
