Kuwait: Continuation of blatant Iranian attacks constitutes a serious escalation and a direct threat to security and stability

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed, on Thursday, Kuwait’s condemnation and strongest rejection of the ongoing unjust aggression launched by Iran and its proxies against the country, which today targeted the Abdali border crossing through a number of hostile drone attacks. This constitutes a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, a direct threat to its security and stability, and a serious breach of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817. The Ministry stressed in a statement that persisting in these brazen and repeated attacks represents a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to regional security and stability, reflecting a systematic hostile approach that is neither justifiable nor acceptable. The Ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s full and inherent right to self-defense, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, and its commitment to taking all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its territory and assets, and preserve its security and stability.
