Interior Ministry: It is incorrect to prevent vehicles from exiting border crossings in the event of violations

The Ministry of Interior clarified that reports circulating on some social media platforms claiming that all vehicles are barred from exiting through border crossings if they have unpaid traffic violations are false. The Ministry reaffirmed that the current procedure applies only to vehicles subject to judicial or precautionary seizure, and to vehicles whose insurance certificates have expired, in accordance with established legal procedures, and does not extend to vehicles with outstanding traffic violations. The Ministry further emphasized that citizens’ departure through border crossings does not require the settlement of traffic violations. However, residents are required to settle any outstanding traffic violations before leaving the country, in line with prevailing procedures and regulations. The Ministry urges everyone to exercise due diligence, refrain from disseminating or publishing unverified information, and obtain information solely from official sources.
