Kuwait and Canada: Enhancing Cooperation in Energy and Water Sectors

Kuwait’s Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Al-Muhaizim, held talks today (Wednesday) with Canada’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Tara Sherawater, to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of electricity, water, and renewable energy. The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said in a press statement that the meeting, attended by the ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Adel Al-Zamil, reviewed opportunities for exchanging expertise and benefiting from Canadian experiences in energy efficiency, sustainability, and modern technologies supporting the development of the electricity and water sectors. The statement added that the meeting also addressed several topics of mutual interest that could contribute to strengthening technical and institutional cooperation frameworks and supporting the ministry’s orientation toward developing infrastructure and improving service efficiency in line with sustainable development goals. It noted that both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining communication and exchanging expertise to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries and open broader horizons for cooperation in areas of shared interest.
