Three Kuwaitis Break the Barrier of Difficult Professions with an Emergency Wrecker
Faisal Matar – In a profession that some might consider arduous, three Kuwaiti youths chose to transform their leisure time into productive work and a service needed by road users. They launched the “Faz’eh Tow Truck” project to transport and tow broken-down vehicles, affirming that Kuwaiti youth are capable of engaging in trades and fieldwork, and can prove their presence in these sectors whenever there is will and a desire to learn.
Their work is not bound by a fixed schedule; tasks may begin in the morning hours or extend into the evening, depending on the calls they receive from vehicle owners. However, this has not prevented them from continuing their work and striving to develop the project and expand its services in the coming phase.
The three youths, who were met by Al-Qabas, operate a flatbed tow truck after deciding to invest their free time in a practical activity that benefits them and helps stranded motorists, particularly in cases requiring swift intervention to transport the vehicle to a garage or a location specified by its owner.
Fawaz Al-Azmi said the idea began with the encouragement of his friends Meshal and Abdullah, after they agreed to invest their free time in useful work. He added, “The flatbed was the project we chose, and we learned how to operate it, gradually starting to work with it.”
Al-Azmi explained that they acquired significant experience by watching instructional videos on YouTube, then applied what they learned practically until they became capable of handling various situations they encounter while transporting vehicles.
Highlighting the practical benefits, he noted that the most rewarding aspect of the work lies in putting their time to good use, alongside helping people on the road. He emphasized that this feeling gives them the motivation to continue and endure the hardships of the job.
He pointed out that one of the most difficult cases they face involves vehicles where the tow hook breaks, requiring considerable effort and precision to lift and load them. He added, “The difficulty and fatigue are eased when we provide service to customers and help them overcome their problems.”
Al-Azmi stressed that the youths receive strong support and encouragement from citizens, saying, “We meet citizens who encourage us because we are Kuwaiti youths working in this profession. They take pride in us and boost our morale, which drives us to continue working and improving ourselves.”
Gulf-Wide Ambitions
The services of “Faz’eh Tow Truck” are not limited to transporting vehicles within Kuwait. The team also offers vehicle shipping services to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, thereby expanding the scope of their work and opening new opportunities for growth.
For his part, Meshal Al-Mutairi said the relationship among team members goes beyond friendship. He added, “We are like brothers, not just friends, and this harmony helps us greatly in working together and sharing responsibilities.”
Al-Mutairi described the profession as enjoyable, emphasizing that it is not as exhausting or burdensome as some might imagine. Instead, it provides practical experience, teaches patience, responsibility, and how to handle different situations.
The three youths aspire to expand their project and increase its operational capacity, building on an experience that began with a simple idea to invest free time and evolved into a model of Kuwaiti youths who chose fieldwork and public service, proving that trades are not exclusive to anyone, and that success in them begins with initiative, learning, and perseverance.
