Kuwait: Continued blatant Iranian aggression undermines de-escalation efforts

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and strongest rejection of the continued Iranian aggression against the country, which reached its latest manifestation today, in a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and a direct threat to its security and stability, as well as to the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory. This aggression constitutes a grave breach of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.

In a statement, the Ministry reaffirmed that the continuation of these brazen attacks, while regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation are underway, represents a systematic undermining of de-escalation efforts and flouts the international will supporting this path.

The Ministry stressed that Kuwait’s security and sovereignty, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory, are inviolable, reiterating Kuwait’s inherent and legitimate right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its security and stability.
